Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Westeros Within mobile application (the "App") handles information. Please read it carefully. By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

You can read and care for your companion without registering an account. Reading notes and conversations stay on your device. If you connect Dragonbond cloud saving or subscription linking, we process the limited game and purchase information described below. We do not use advertising identifiers, third-party analytics or cross-app tracking.

1. Who We Are

The App is provided by Westeros Within ("we," "us," or "our"). It is a companion to the "Westeros Within" YouTube channel.

About the App. Westeros Within is an independent, fan-made companion for epic fantasy book lore. It offers original commentary, summaries, and lore discussion, uses original illustrations and licensed 3D character artwork, and links to the channel's own YouTube videos. All third-party trademarks and copyrights belong to their respective owners.

2. Local use and optional cloud services

No email address, real name or password is required to use books or raise a dragon. Dragonbond creates a game identity on your device. Connecting cloud saving or linking a subscription creates a recovery owner with random credentials; it does not create a public profile.

When connected, our Cloudflare-hosted service receives a companion identifier, game save, appearance, needs, earned XP, action receipts and the identifiers of eligible app discoveries needed to validate and recover progress. It does not receive your full books, passages, reading notes or conversation history. Store linking also processes subscription product/transaction identifiers, ownership bindings, status and expiry. We never receive your payment card information.

These records are used for app functionality, recovery and purchase verification. They are linked to your game owner and are not used for advertising or tracking.

3. Information kept on your device

Reading position, bookmarks, highlights, notes and app preferences remain in local app storage. The companion also has a local save so care can work offline. Its saved state is sent to the service after you connect cloud saving or subscription linking.

Dragon conversations and reviewed voice-input text stay on your device. Voice capture is requested only after you choose it. Supported devices recognize speech on device; unsupported devices retain typed input. We do not upload microphone recordings or conversation transcripts to our companion service.

Recovery credentials remain in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore-protected storage. The scene receives game state and capabilities, not your secret credentials. A recovery code can grant access to your cloud companion; keep it private.

4. Content Downloads and Hosting Logs

The App downloads lore text, JSON data, and images from our website, https://westeroswithin.com, which is served as static content through Cloudflare. When your device requests this content over the internet, the hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard technical server-access information (such as an IP address, the requested file, the date and time, and general device/browser information). This kind of logging is a normal function of virtually all web hosting and is handled at the server/hosting level. We do not use this information to identify you or to build a profile about you, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

5. Third-Party Services

The App interacts with a small number of third-party services to function. When you use those features, the relevant third party's own privacy policy governs its handling of your information. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third parties.

a) Apple, Google Play and Purchases

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit) for App Store copies, and by Google through Google Play (Play Billing) for Google Play copies. b) YouTube / Google, Video Playback

The App plays videos through an embedded YouTube player, and video thumbnail images are loaded from YouTube (i.ytimg.com). YouTube is provided by Google. When you play a video or when thumbnails load, YouTube/Google may collect information in accordance with their own terms and policies. c) Cloudflare, Content Hosting

6. Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called "Westeros Within Plus." The core lore content is available without subscribing; the subscription unlocks extra experiences and customization (such as app color themes, alternate app icons, collector home-screen widgets, unlimited bookmarks, highlights, and notes, a candlelight reading mode, a sleep timer, note export, the Patron's Seal and bookplate cosmetics, Codex Trails, dragon Talk, Inner light inspection, luxury care items and rider experiences).

• Options: A single subscription group with a Monthly option (US$1.99) and a Yearly option (US$5.99). Prices are localized and may vary by region.
• No free trial.
• Billing by the store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, depending on where you obtained the App. The subscription automatically renews for the same price and period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (iOS) or in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions (Android).
• Restore Purchases. The App provides a "Restore Purchases" option so you can restore an active subscription on your devices.
• We never receive your payment details. All billing is handled by Apple or by Google. We do not receive or store your card number or other payment/financial information. The App reads verified store entitlement locally; when subscription linking is enabled, the companion service retains the limited purchase records described in Section 2.

7. Device Permissions

The App may ask for the following permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose, and you can grant or deny them in your device settings:

• Photo Library (add-only): Requested only if you choose to save a wallpaper image to your photo library. This is "add-only" access, the App uses it solely to save an image you explicitly select and cannot read or browse your existing photos.
• Background Audio: Used so that narration audio can continue playing when the App is in the background.
• Microphone and speech recognition: Requested only when you choose voice input in companion Talk. Recognition runs on the device where supported; typed input remains available if you decline or your device does not support it.

The App does not request access to your location, camera or contacts, and it does not request tracking permission. The App does not currently use local notifications.

8. No Tracking, No Advertising, No Analytics

We do not track you, in the App or across other apps and websites. The App contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics, and no third-party trackers. We do not sell or "share" personal information, and we do not sell game records or purchase-verification information to advertisers.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). It contains fantasy themes with mild, non-graphic violence. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has connected a cloud save, contact us so we can address the cloud records. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@cryptolive.blog; local reading notes stay on the device; connected companion records are covered by this Policy.

10. Data security and retention

Local information is protected by device security. Network requests use HTTPS; recovery credentials use Keychain or Keystore-protected storage. The companion service validates revisions and action receipts before accepting game progress. No storage or transport system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Connected game and verification records are retained while your cloud companion exists, so it can be recovered and its purchases checked. Deleting a cloud save removes its active owner and associated game/receipt/store records. Cloud-provider backups can retain earlier copies until their normal retention expires. Deleting the app alone does not delete a cloud save.

11. International Users

The App is available in various regions. Connected companion saves and purchase-verification information may be processed by Cloudflare and the relevant app store outside your country. The third-party services described above (Apple, YouTube/Google, and Cloudflare) may process information, including standard technical data, on servers located in countries other than your own. Those transfers and processing activities are governed by the respective third parties' own privacy policies. By using the App, you understand that content delivery and the third-party services it relies on may operate internationally.

12. Your choices and controls

Delete your Westeros Within cloud companion

You can request deletion even if you no longer have the App. Email support@cryptolive.blog with the subject “Westeros Within cloud companion deletion”. Tell us your companion name and the platform you used. We will arrange a private ownership check before deleting anything. Never post your recovery code or purchase token publicly.

If you have the App, open More → My Dragon → Save & recovery → Delete cloud save and confirm your companion. This removes its cloud owner, linked device credentials, saved dragon, action/discovery receipts and our subscription-verification records. Your current local companion stays on your device. Cloud database recovery history expires within at most 30 days. Apple and Google retain their own billing records under their policies; deleting the cloud companion does not cancel your subscription. You can remove local app data separately by deleting the App and cancel subscriptions in the store.

• Use local care without connecting a cloud save; edit or delete local notes and preferences in the App.
• Use companion save controls to export your local progress, disconnect this device or delete its cloud save. Disconnecting preserves local care; deletion removes cloud ownership while preserving the current local companion.
• Deleting the app removes its ordinary local storage but does not cancel subscriptions or remove a connected cloud save.
• Control microphone, speech and photo permissions in device settings.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through the store where you purchased them.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example, to reflect changes to the App or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy and post the updated version. Material changes will be made available through the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised Policy.

14. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory local law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation where applicable, provides otherwise.
